Spellcasting: At 1st level the Warcaster chooses a spellcasting classes in which they can cast 3rd level or higher spells. At each level other than the 1st, they gain additional spell points, bonus spell points,spells known and personal caster level as though they had gained a level in that class.
Sense Cortex (Su): At 1st level the Warcaster gains the ability to sense an active ’Jack cortext as a standard action.
Using this ability the Warcaster immediately knows if there is an active Cortext within 100ft.At the Warcaster’s option they may continue to concentrate on this ability for as many rounds as they like, taking a standard action each round. From the second round forward they can learn the the number of Active Cortexes. From the third round forward they can get a close approximation of the location of the cortext.
Focus(Su): A warcaster gains the ability to channel their magical energy to tap into their innate talents. This innate power is called focus.
As a standard action a Warcaster can convert their spell points into focus. A warcaster can hold a maximum focus equal to 2 + their levels int he Warcaster class, up to a maximum of 8. Each spell point they spend converts to one focus, and they can convert as many points as they like this way (though points beyond their maximum focus are lost). Focus points persist for 5 rounds, after which they dissipate without effect.
A Warcaster can spend this focus to augment their abilities. Each level they gain one use for their focus points. The order in which they learn depend on the Warcaster and their mentor:
-Boost Attacks: As a free action, the Warcaster spends 1 focus to gain a bonus on their next attack roll equal to their Warcaster level. This can only be used once per attack.
-Boost Damage: As a free action, the Warcaster spends 1 focus to gain a +1d6 bonus on all damage rolls until the start of their next turn. This ability can be used once per every 2 Warcaster levels (minimum 1)
-Extra Attacks: As a free action, This ability can be used once per every 2 Warcaster levels (minimum 1). the Warcaster spends 2 focus points. They may immediately make a ranged or melee attack.
-Boost AC: As a free action, the Warcaster spends 1 focus point. They immediately gain a bonus to AC equal to their Warcaster level, until the start of their next turn. This can only be used once per round.
Weapon Training: At 1st level a Warcaster gains proficiency with any two weapons, per their instruction with their mentor.
Contact Cortex(Su): Starting at 2nd level is able to issue telepathic commands to all ’Jacks in their range (5ft * Personal Caster Level) as a Standard Action. This is treated exactly as though the Warcaster had made a successful ’Jack Handling check on each ’Jack in the area. Each ’Jack may be given different orders.
A ‘Jack that has Cotext Locks in place and aren’t attuned to the Warcaster (most Warjacks have Cortext Locks) is not subject to this ability.
If the ‘Jack is already under the command of another, be it a Warcaster or someone using verbal commands there is a opposed ’Jack Handling roll. The Warcaster gets a bonus on this roll equal to their Warcaster level. If they lose, they weren’t able to take control of the ’Jack. Though they may attempt again with another standard action.
Armor Training: At 2nd level a Warcaster gains proficiency with light, medium and heavy armor. They also learn to ignore 10% of Arcane Spell Failure chance from armor. This stacks with similar abilities.
If they could already cast spells without incurring Arcane Failure Chance (such as a bard’s ability) they may now do so in armor on class heavier (light armor becomes medium, medium becomes heavy).
Warcaster Armor At 3rd level a Warcaster gains Warcaster Armor Profiency as a bonus feat.
Augment ’Jack At 3rd level a Warcaster can now spend their Focus to increase a ’Jacks abilties in the same fashion as their own. The ’Jack must be within range (5ft * Personal Caster Level).
Arc Node Training At 4th level a Warcaster can now use an Arc Node if a ’Jack is equipped with one. Basic Arc Nodes allow the caster to use a ’Jack within range (5ft * Personal Caster Level) as the origin for any spells they can cast except those with range “Personal” or target “You”. Some Arc Nodes may have additional features.
Warcaster Adept At 5th level a Warcaster can now spend 1 Focus point to grant a ’Jack any 1 Combat Feat feat for 1 round. They may also spend 1 Focus to use their Contact Cortex ability as a Swift Action, and when doing so can allow ’Jacks to use the “Run” full-round action.
